Madame Rose has entered the garden where she had arranged to meet her unknown admirer. Ever since she had received the note asking her to meet him in this place she had been in a state of excitement. She holds the fan a little closer to her face - she must not be recognized by anyone except her ... what is he ... lover, well maybe! Once again her mind is bombarded with questions. The first of which was 'is she mad even thinking of meeting a total stranger?', followed closely by; 'who is he?' 'what would he look like?' and 'what sort of man can write a simple note that has thrilled her like a young girl?' Then of course 'have I the courage to follow through with this assignation to the probable passionate conclusion?' She finds a secluded place to wait near the Bridge of Earthly Pleasures, where she can see the entrance. The combination of the erotic expectation and the warm sunlight starts to affect her and she finds herself drifting off into a wild and erotic fantasy. In her excited imagination she finds herself in a mysterious room charged with sexual energy where she imagines herself slowly undressing before him - watching his face as she peels the clothes from her body - until she is naked before him.
