Yes it is that time of the year again when the hockey season reaches it's "climax" as the remaining teams fight it out for the right to be declared Stanely Cup Champs. We thought we would salute the teams and players (as well as provide some usefull insight to some of the finer aspects of the game to the uninitiated) with a submission to VW. We took these photos one lunch hour(the only quiet time in a busy house) with our webcam as part of a daily lunch hour theme that we had started on the Red Clouds Registered BB. Since we are both big hockey fans we thought we do a hockey thread(she's a hockey mom as well...and to all those who asked on the Puss N' Boots threads..yes she is 40!...for a few more months atleast). It started out as a bit of a lark and we had a hoot taking them. We posted two threads and the responses were hilarious (lots of innuendo in hockey phraes...lol). We apologise for the quality, but we hope that you can enjoy them in the "tongue in cheek spirit" that they were taken! The pics below show some of the common things that you might see in a game:taking the face off, a close up of the "equipment", examples of penalties such as hooking, tripping ("stick" between the legs)and of course slashing!!!, which causes injuries and usually require the assistance of the trainer....they also show what it is like to get sent to the "penaltybox"...the camera always zooms in on the "penalized" player...it is a tough game and a well needed rest is required at the end of the game...enjoy the rest of the playoffs and remember to always keep your "stick" on the ice!
